Championing homegrown produce and pouring cracking bottles has always been at the beating heart of THE PIG - and there’s no better place to get-together than at THE PIG-in the South Downs , overlooking the vines of our very first PIG vineyard!
This March, head to our house for an unmissable, wine-fuelled four-course lunchtime feast in our glass restaurant, where you’ll hear stories and insights from Spectator drinks editor, Jonathan Ray, and five fabled wine producers as the afternoon unfolds.
It’s not every day you get this kind of line-up of celebrated wine producers joining us to pour, chat and linger a little longer over lunch!!
You’ll be welcomed with the pop of a cork and a glass of Bollinger, Special Cuvée, NV as you take a seat in our restaurant, where flowing conversation, cracking bottles and a four-course feast from Head Chef Craig begin.
First up from the cellar, you’ll hear from Cyril Delarue, Global Sales Director (and family member!) at Champagne Bollinger, alongside Thierry Berger, Managing Director at Domaine Chanson in Burgundy. As the stories start to flow, your starters will be served with a glass of Domaine Chanson, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Haut Marconnets 1er Cru, 2022.
Once starters are cleared, the conversation continues with Federico Ceretto, Co-Owner of Ceretto Winery in Italy, as a generous glass of Ceretto, Barolo DOCG, 2017 is poured.

Sit back and relax as your main course is served up (freshly picked from our Kitchen Garden this morning and locally sourced from the best local farmers we know!), before the afternoon rolls on with another story in the glass.
Once plates are cleared, Clara Schnitzler, Export Director at Klein Constantia, will introduce the wine poured with pudding: the iconic Klein Constantia, Vin de Constance, 2021. To finish, you’ll hear from Kit Ellen, Commercial Director at Exton Park, as a round of locally sourced cheeses is served alongside a generous pour of Exton Park, RB28, Blanc de Noirs – the perfect final chapter to a long, wine-soaked lunch.

When, where, how much…
When & where?
Wednesday 4th March 2026, at THE PIG-in the South Downs - book here.
What time?
We’ll pop the first bottles of Bollinger at THE PIG-in the South Downs at 12.30pm to enjoy as you pull up a chair in the restaurant. The four-course PIG feast and conversation will start flowing with our fantastic wine friends at 1pm, and go all the way until 5pm.
This lunch is a relaxed, sociable lunch with sharing tables – if you’ve booked with friends, just give us a shout so we can make sure you’re all sat together. Everything will be prepped ahead of your arrival, right down to the name cards on the tables!
How much & what’s included?
£165 per person, which includes a four-course PIG lunch*, plus perfectly paired wines. The wine will be generously poured, so we suggest you order a taxi… or better still, book a room – so you can really make the most of the evening!
Please note this event is for over 18s only.
*If you have any dietary requirements or allergens please let us know in advance, so we can ensure everyone is well catered for and can provide alternative dishes on the day.
Fancy making a night of it?
Why not turn the afternoon into a proper PIG getaway and book a room for the night? Wander from the lunch to a big comfy bed with no need for taxis or designated drivers. Just you, a bedroom so comfy you won't want to leave, and maybe a cheeky extra nightcap to round off the evening!
Once you've purchased your tickets, you'll receive a link on your booking confirmation to book a room at an exclusive The Spectators stay rate.
