sandy shores, coastal views, salty sea breeze

Long summer days on the Jurassic coast

THE PIG-on the beach

This is when our Dorset hideaway really comes into its own

With long, sun-soaked days settling over Studland Bay, the coastline comes alive with colour, wildlife and that easy summer feeling. There’s every excuse to linger outside a little longer, glass in hand, soaking up the sea air.

From fresh, garden-led feasting in our restaurant to outdoor, wood-fired dining at the Garden Oven, summer here is best spent in the open air. Think clifftop wanders towards Old Harry Rocks, live music drifting through the garden and long, lazy afternoons that roll effortlessly into warm evenings , summertime, the PIG way.

Step Outside: Summer Walks & Garden Wanders

Right from our doorstep you’ll find sweeping sands, heathland trails and coastal paths that show Dorset at its very best! Wander along the beach towards Old Harry Rocks, loop through the nature reserve, or head inland across open heath. It’s all wide horizons, seabirds overhead and that fresh-off-the-water breeze that makes you feel instantly better for getting outside.

Our team has pulled together some of their favourite local routes, perfect for blowing away the cobwebs before lunch or stretching things out after breakfast.

Pull on your walking shoes

Outdoor eats at the Garden Oven

Soak up every last drop of al fresco-fuelled afternoons this spring and enjoy wood-fired pizzas with good company at our Garden Oven, tucked just outside the hustle and bustle of the main house.

Simply rock up and grab a table to join us for an afternoon bite or a quick drink – there’s no better place to down tools and settle in for some garden-inspired grazing and a cold one!

Unwind in the Sheep Huts

Our treatment rooms are some of our favourite spots to hide out, tucked away in the peace and quiet of the Kitchen Garden. Sinking into a massage, facial or scrub while the rest of the world does its thing feels like a really good kind of treat.

It’s time carved out just for you.

Golden hour: Buttered & Baked

After a long, countryside ramble, there’s only one sensible next step. Settle in for Buttered & Baked - generous, comforting and proudly un‑fussy, ‘perfect-for-3pm’ kind of moreish treats.

Think warm, savoury, cheesy, buttery bites and plentiful homebaked sweet things to finish. It’s the perfect pairing for a mid-week spring wander, whether you’re staying the night or just dropping in.

Have teatime, THE PIG way
